Ms. Imam prepared and procured four U.S. Patents which became the subject of a complex patent litigation suit resulting in a favorable Markman Hearing outcome, and millions of dollars in settlement and licensing revenues for the client.
She defended a client against a design patent infringement lawsuit with favorable settlement results.
Ms. Imam has extensive experience in client counseling relating to issues surrounding intellectual property. She manages entire intellectual property portfolios for startup to mid-sized clients and in addition has acted as general counsel. She has managed patent portfolios for a number of engineering design divisions, conducted infringement analysis, made prior art searches for invalidity and claim construction purposes, and drafted infringement opinions. She has also negotiated technology cross-licensing agreements and as a part of a large litigation team, has written motions and taken discovery in a number of complex patent litigation cases.
Six of the patents Ms. Imam prepared and prosecuted were enforced in a major and complex patent/trade secret litigation matter with favorable Markman Hearing outcome on all six patents. An additional number of patents, prepared and prosecuted by Ms. Imam, have been recently added to the suit.
She successfully defended a client, as a Junior Party, in an interference matter resulting in the client maintaining its patent rights and winning on all four counts.
Ms. Imam has extensive experience and educational background in the area of electrical engineering having worked as an electrical engineer and project manager in the hi-tech sector for over nine years. She is the co-inventor of a few US patents in the area of mass storage.
